First, I want to take a moment and thank all the people who work during blizzards and any kind of weather to keep all of us safe...police, firemen, EMT's, snow plowers, hospital staff, newscasters, the national guard, and anyone else I'm forgetting. We had some nasty weather here this week and I don't think these people get enough credit for working around the clock and staying close to work and braving the conditions outside in order to be there for the community. So, THANK YOU!
The University of Missouri officially had to close Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. Three snow days in a row. Now, I thought these snow days were great fun until I read this: "Following this weather emergency closure of the university, plans will be made and announced in the near future regarding makeup classes, missed exams, and appropriate adjustments to the academic calendar." Now, we've never had a snow day since I've been here and in the school's history they've never had three snow days in one year, so I don't think they've ever had to make adjustments to the calendar. Does anyone else go to a college that's had multiple snow days? What do you do to make them up?
I've been stuck in my house since Monday at noon! I'm getting very antsy and ready to be back in my routine. Yesterday I went out with my roommates to shovel our driveway. It took us about 3 hours because there was so much snow...I'm thinking this would be one of those times that I really wish I had a boyfriend who I could ask to come shovel my driveway....ha. An old man who drove by said "Chivalry must be dead if three young ladies are out here shoveling by themselves." Haha! It was fun meeting some of our neighbors because everyone was digging out. Thank you to our wonderful neighbors who let us borrow shovels because the city ran out of shovels before we could get one!

surely they won't make up the days...will they?!?
and seriously, I think that shoveling snow is one of the hardest chores in the world! thank goodness I now have a Hubby & fabulous neighbors for that now!
I've been wondering if they'll force y'all to make up the days, too! I bet it will depend on the professors?
I heard KOMU kids had a campout at the station --- crazy! Glad to hear it's better up there though :)
3 snow days in a row. That is crazy! Hopefully you get a break from the bad weather this weekend!
Yes, my family is from Italy. Both my parents were born there. It is a beautiful place. Hopefully you get to go visit some day! :)
