Brad (by the way, you should follow his new blog...he's a much better writer than me) and I took our first little mini-vacation together! We only had Thursday night-Saturday morning, so we chose somewhere drivable and landed on Branson! We had seen that Silver Dollar City in Branson had a Top 10 Light Display in the United States! So we packed up and headed down south for a visit and stayed with one of my good friends from college who was kind enough to open her home to us!!
Thursday night we drove after work and visited with my friend. Then Friday morning we got up and relaxed a bit before heading to a local Mexican restaurant called Maria's that was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Some people may have thought we were crazy because we definitely ordered margaritas at 11 am on a Friday (but hey it's 5 o'clock somewhere, right?). We decided we were on vacation and this place was known for their margaritas, so we had to try them. And, sure enough they ranked up there with some of the best margaritas we've ever had! So good!!
We then headed to Silver Dollar City in Branson! We spent the afternoon watching shows and riding rides! Their rendition of "A Christmas Carol" was very good!!
The weather was beautiful during the day, but once the sun went down, it was FREEZING. Thankfully, the pretty lights helped ease the coldness!! We saw the lighting of the Christmas tree below:
Everything was lit so beautifully and elegantly!
My most favorite thing about Silver Dollar City was that JESUS and the real meaning of Christmas was the center of everything!! You don't see that very often anymore.
I highly recommend the Silver Dollar City Christmas lights as a place to visit!
The BEST part of the trip is that it was with the Love of My Life! :) We had such a wonderful time, just the two of us! I couldn't have picked a better partner to experience the Christmas lights with for the first time! I'm looking forward to many more trips with this AMAZING man!!
After the trip we headed home to spend Christmas with my family!! We went to Christmas Eve services and spent Christmas Day with my 20 relatives at my aunt and uncle's house! What a wonderful first Christmas together!! We hope you had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
